All new look this season. With the influx of a number of new players we had the job of choosing a squad. Dave, Boysie and myself decided on a squad of 18. We have welcomed the new arrivals to the team and we believe they can only make the squad stronger and able to compete with the top teams in our league.
For good or bad the lads are stuck with the same coaching team of myself, Boysie and Dave M. We are planning to get the best of the squad this season and decided, along with the parents, to play the strongest 11 possible week in week out. This 11 will be chosen by the coaching team and as agreed all parents must accept this. Hopefully all will.
We would also like to welcome the new parents, some of whom have already discovered the social side of the team. Socially it will just get messier as the season wheres on.
Should kids in the Under 11 age group continue to play small sided football (as in Scotland & Wales) or should they make the step up to 11-a-side (as in England)?
Small sided football - too early to move up
11-a-side football - time to step up
